This privacy policy sets out the rules of ALDI (China) Investment Co., Ltd and of its affiliates (“ALDI”or “We”) to collect and handle your personal information. We recognize the importance of your personal information. This means we strive to safeguard your personal information in accordance with laws and regulations.

 

1. The Collection and Processing of Personal Information
If you are a contact personnel, officer or employee of an ALDI business partner, we may collect personal information about you in the course of business communications, business negotiations, channel management and due diligence check into business partners, as necessary for the conduct of our business, either orally, contractually, or by other written or digital form. The personal information includes: name, job title, gender, date of birth, email address, contact address, telephone number, mobile phone number, company name, IP address, account and credentials when using ALDI systems.
If you are the personnel providing delivery services for ALDI customer orders, we may process your surname, location information and the related tracking information to provide support during delivery or inform customer about delivery progress.
If you are a contact person for a supplier of ALDI products, we will process your company name, company address, mobile phone number which is information related to food traceability and provide it to government agencies.
In addition, if you are an individual who signs contract with ALDI or the related party, we may collect your identity information including Chinese national identity card or passport.

 

2. Disclosure to Third Parties

2.1 Commissioned Handling of Personal Information
For reasonable business needs, ALDI may engage third-party vendors or service providers to handle your personal information for ALDI (including the selected banks, insurance companies, external auditors, accountants, lawyers and other professional consultants, and other service providers who provides administrative, personnel-matters-related, telecommunications, computer or other services to ALDI). We will enter into agreements with such third-party vendors or service providers to regulate their handling purposes, methods, scopes and categories of your personal information, as well as to require them to adopt appropriate protective measures to ensure your personal information security.

2.2 Provision of Personal Information to a Third Party
Unless obtaining your separate prior consent or as required by relevant laws or regulations, we will not provide your personal information to any third-party personal information handler.

2.3 Legal Obligations
In order to perform our obligations under applicable laws, we may provide your personal information to regulatory authorities. Moreover, if we are requested by any enforcement order or judicial order, we may also provide your information to a third-party subject to said order.

2.4 Merger, Separation, Dissolution of ALDI company
If the transfer of personal information is necessary in merger, separation or dissolution of ALDI company, we will provide your personal information to the relevant successor of all or part of our business, who will continue being bound by this privacy policy.

 

3. Cross-Border Transfer of Personal Information
If your company is ALDI’s supplier, ALDI SÜD Group might gather from your company the scope 3 data for Company Carbon Footprint (CCF) report. If you are contact point for this topic, the pinyin of your Chinese name and business email address will be shared with ALDI SÜD KG in order to send you the questionnaire related to CCF report.

 

4. The Protection and Storage of Personal Information
We attach great importance to the security of your personal information. For this reason, we strive to adopt all practical and reasonable measures to protect the personal information in our possession or under our control to prevent any unauthorized or incidental access to, handling of personal information, as well as leakage, falsification or loss of personal information.
We will only store your personal information for as long as necessary to achieve the purposes described in this privacy policy, unless an extension period is required, or it is allowed by the laws. When the storage period expires, we will delete or anonymize your personal information as required by relevant laws.

 

5. Your Rights in relation to Your Personal Information
You can apply for access to and a copy of personal information collected by us. Please inform us immediately of any change in relation to your personal information, or in case you are aware of any inaccuracy or incompleteness in your personal information collected by us, so as to ensure that your personal information retained by us is accurate and timely updated. If you are aware of any error in your personal information, you may request us to correct your personal information. Should you consider any collection, use, transfer or disclosure of your personal information by us violates any applicable laws and regulations or any agreements which you and ALDI entered into, you may request us to delete your personal information. Such requests should be addressed directly to the business department in contact with you.
You are also able to exercise other rights in relation to your personal information in accordance with the applicable laws. You may withdraw your consent as contemplated hereby by sending us an email. Upon the recipient of your application for withdrawal of consent, we will cease to use and delete your personal information. Please note that we will not be held responsible for any adverse impact on your company arising from your withdrawal of the consent.
Please be aware that after your request to delete your personal information, due to applicable laws and security technology restrictions, we may not be able to delete the corresponding personal information immediately, but we will safely retain your personal information and restrict any further handling until such personal information can be deleted or anonymized.

 

6. Questions and Complaints
You may contact us if you have questions or complaints regarding the privacy policy or how ALDI handles your personal information.
If any significant data leakage relating to ALDI comes to your attention, please inform us without any delay so as to enable us to decide whether we should report such leakage to relevant authorities according to the applicable PRC laws.
